As a part of Children, Youth & Families Department's (CYFD) performance and accountability responsibilities with the New Mexico legislature, the 360 Degrees County Profiles allows Protective Services a collaborative means for all staff to participate in the process with the Legislative Finance Committee and the CYFD Office of the Secretary to identify issues early, work to target resources, and to anticipate and plan for future needs within the child welfare system.
The 360 Degrees County Profiles is produced quarterly. Top management in Protective Services and at least three counties per quarter, meet to define issues, celebrate achievements, and develop corrective action plans. Local community members and court officials participate in this process.
The 360 Degrees County Profiles allows for the efficiencies of centralized data collection while fostering and supporting local accountability and solutions. This comprehensive review of child welfare in New Mexico serves the needs of multiple stakeholder groups and fosters continuous improvement in New Mexico’s child welfare system.
Data for the County Profiles is prepared through the collaborative efforts of the Research/Evaluation & FACTS Bureau of Protective Services and the Information Technology Services of Children, Youth and Families and with the assistance and guidance of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Children and Families, Administration on Children, Youth and Families, Children's Bureau.
